I have just received an att from the RCMP.

The following information  included

Effective 2013/02/26: please email ALL document requests to cfpcfounit@rcmp-grc.gc.ca

Document requests include items such as range/club memberships, proof of citizenship or requests for authorizations to transport.

I've been using this email address for ST-ATT request for a while now.

Typically I send it in towards the end of the work day and I find the reply and ST-ATT attached in my in-box in the morning while I'm drinking my coffee.

The record for a return has been 12 minutes ...... 12 minutes to get a ST-ATT back via email for Nationals last year in NB.

I typically include all my personal information.

Name, address, phone.

RPAL number.

LT-ATT auth number. Permit number(s) for the gun(s) - the little brown pieces of paper and their serial numbers.

I then describe in detail my routing and itinerary with dates etc ....

I include the hotel address and what I'm doing each day of the match.

If there's a letter of invitation in pdf I attach that too.

Typically it takes me longer to type the request out than it does to actually wait and receive it.

The last couple of replies I've had from the CFO have included a "Good luck at the match" comment at the bottom.

Either way - it is far more preferable than to sit and wait on hold on the phone.

YMMV
